Common Questions
Do I need to know exactly what I want before ordering?
Not at all. Checkout just locks in your package and guest count. Everything else (colors, text, design details, your vision) gets collected afterward through a short design form. If you have a clear idea of what you want, great. If you just know you want your dog involved and trust us to make it look good, that works too. We've done this 300+ times.
Will it actually look like my dog?
Yes, and we don't print until you're certain it does. That's the whole point of the Happiness Guarantee. You'll see a detailed proof before anything goes to production. If the ears are wrong, the coloring is off, or it just doesn't feel right, we revise it. As many times as it takes. We've illustrated everything from photogenic golden retrievers to camera-shy rescue mutts with complicated markings, and we get it right.
I'm worried it'll look cheesy. How do I know this will actually fit my wedding?
It's a fair concern, and it's the most common one we hear. The short answer is: look at the photos. Our work has been featured in Vogue Weddings and Brides. Couples with black-tie venues, minimalist aesthetics, and very particular taste have ordered from us and been happy.
The longer answer is that we design around your wedding, not around a generic "dog wedding" template. Your palette, your typography style, your vibe. We build the illustration and layout to match. The goal is always for guests to notice the detail and think "that's beautiful" before they realize it's a dog portrait.
Can I customize the text on the items?
Yes. You choose all the text: the wording, the font style, everything. Popular options include "Cheers from [Dog's Name]," your names and wedding date, or a short phrase that means something to you. If you're not sure what to put, we'll make suggestions based on what's worked well for similar weddings.
Can I see the artwork before it's printed?
Absolutely. You’ll approve a final proof before anything goes to print.
What does the 100% Happiness Guarantee mean?
It means we don't print until the illustration actually looks like your dog and you’re happy with the design proof. You'll get a detailed proof showing the portrait on every product in your order. If something's off, the markings, the expression, the color, the proportions, tell us and we'll fix it. No limit on revisions, no extra charge. We move to production only when you say it's right.
What if I have multiple dogs?
We can include up to 3 animals, if you have more, please contact us to see what we can do. Each dog is illustrated with the same care and reviewed with you before print.
What if I have a cat (or other pet)?
We illustrate any pet: cats, horses, bunnies, whatever you love. Every portrait is hand-drawn specifically for you.
When should I order?
We recommend at least 10–12 weeks before your wedding. The timeline breaks down as: 5–7 days for illustration, 2–3 days for proofing, and 4–5 weeks for production and shipping. The more buffer you have, the more relaxed the proofing process is. If you're under 10 weeks out, reach out before ordering as we may be able to accommodate with rush processing.
What if I need my order sooner than 10–12 weeks?
Rush processing is available at checkout. It moves you to the front of the illustration queue and ships express. Email hello@ineverychapter.com if you need an exact timeline before ordering.
What photos should I send?
Clear, well-lit photos where we can see your dog's face and features. We'll send you specific guidance after you order, but phone photos work great—no professional shoot needed.
What if my dog doesn't photograph well or has unique markings?
That's exactly why we hand-illustrate instead of using photos. Our artists are trained to capture personality and likeness, even with tricky coloring, mixed breeds, or camera-shy pups.

Small drinks table. Huge flowers. The little dog drawings fitted in with it all rather nicely. I had visions of accidentally creating a dog-themed birthday party, but our simple colours and wording kept the bar looking how we wanted.

I chose the package for quite boring reasons: we needed drinkware, napkins and something for the cocktails. I also liked our dog being involved. Didn't realise the second bit would matter quite so much when I saw the drawing. He's getting old and we didn't want him coping with a big event. Having his grey face there in this small way felt right. The practical purchase became one of the things I was most pleased we did.
