Linda and Lucy met while volunteering at a San Francisco animal nonprofit, two lifelong animal lovers and dog moms who quickly became friends. When Linda got engaged, she knew her dog Oso had to be part of the day. What she found was disappointing: tacky, templated decor that failed to capture what every dog owner knows, that their dog is irreplaceable and one of a kind.
So she hired an illustrator to hand-draw Oso, then spent weeks sourcing vendors separately for napkins, totes, stirrers, and more, each with its own minimums, timelines, and proofing processes. It was the hardest part of planning the entire wedding.
When the day arrived, those personalized details were the most talked-about part of the wedding. But Linda couldn't stop thinking: it shouldn't have been that hard.
